2. Collection and processing of personal data

We process personal data only to the extent necessary for the provision of our service. This includes:

Registration data (email address, password, name, other data if provided)
Metadata of the uploaded files (e.g. file size, time of upload, IP address of the uploader)
Communication data (support requests, contact forms)
Log data for file downloads (IP address, time, user agent)

3. Purpose of data processing

Personal data is processed exclusively for the following purposes:

Providing and ensuring the functionality of TrustSend
Registration and management of user accounts
Communication with users and support requests
Security and misuse prevention (e.g. log files for traceability of downloads)
Fulfillment of legal obligations

4. Storage and deletion of data

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary to fulfill the respective purposes. The following storage periods apply:

Registration data: Until the user account is deleted or after 3 years of inactivity
Files: Determined according to the subscription model chosen by the user. Currently between 7 and 30 days.
Log data (e.g. download logs): Until the user account is deleted or after 3 years of inactivity
Communication data: Until the final processing of the request

After these periods have expired, the data will be deleted, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it.

5. Security and encryption

TrustSend uses state-of-the-art encryption technologies to secure files. The provider has no access to the decryption keys and cannot enable the recovery of lost keys.

6. Disclosure of data to third parties

We do not pass on personal data to third parties, except:

If it is necessary for the fulfillment of the contract (e.g. payment service provider for subscriptions currently Stripe)
If there is a legal obligation (e.g. by order of authorities)
For the investigation and prevention of misuse or crimes

7. Web analysis with Matomo

We use the web analysis service software Matomo (www.matomo.org) on this website, a service provided by InnoCraft Ltd, 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand. We operate Matomo on our own server in Austria. As a result, no data is transmitted to servers that are beyond our control.

Matomo uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is only stored on our server and is not passed on to third parties.

Your IP address is anonymized before storage. The processing is based on our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behavior for optimization and marketing purposes in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

8. Rechte der betroffenen Personen

As a user, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) – You can request a copy of your stored data.
Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) – You can have incorrect data corrected.
Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) – You can have your data deleted under certain conditions.
Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) – If deletion is not possible, processing can be restricted.
Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) – You can receive your data in a machine-readable format.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) – You can object to the processing of your data.
